Piła bypass – stages I and II
New connection between National Road No. 11 and Voivodeship Roads No. 188 and 179 – northwest section of the Piła city bypass (section from Al. Niepodległości to Al. Wojska Polskiego) and the final (second) phase of the construction of the Piła city bypass.

- Reconstruction of overhead and underground power lines as well as underground telecommunications cable lines

Scope
PREPARATORY WORK
- Dismantling and removal from the construction site of the pavement on the roadway and around the abutments, including the base layer, existing protective concrete and isolation layers, weak concrete from the deck slab, protective barriers with railings, parts of cornices on the structure and abutments, expansion joints, and parts of the back walls of the abutments.
BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
- Modernization of supports and load-bearing structure through repair of anti-corrosion coatings on the steel structure of the bridge, installation of new waterproofing and pavement on the entire deck including sections on the abutments.
- Construction of sidewalk curbs with curbstones and installation of rigid edge barriers and handrails.
- Comprehensive renovation of the abutments.
- Modernization of drainage by constructing a stormwater drainage system with discharge to the river.
- Reconstruction of expansion joints.
- Anti-corrosion protection of bearings.
- Repair of slope stairs and surface protection of concrete; stabilization of slopes and embankments.
FINISHING WORKS
- Replacement of sign fastening devices for navigation with new ones.
- Installation of horizontal and vertical signage on the structure.

Scope
PAVEMENT WORK
- Installation of granite pavement over an area of 13,000 m² with a load class of D400, featuring a repetitive pattern using slabs of 6 different dimensions.
- Impregnation and filling of the pavement joints with resin grout.
INFRASTRUCTURE
- Drainage of the square using a linear drainage system with a total length exceeding 500 meters.
- Reconstruction of the stormwater drainage system including elements of the sanitary sewage system and the water supply network.
FINISHING WORK
- Installation of lighting and illumination of 39 trees using RGB LED fixtures.
- Placement of 30 planting stations for trees using the Greenleaf Arborsystem.
- Installation of a controlled irrigation system for trees and green elements.
- Execution of stone cladding on tunnel walls adjacent to the square and installation of small architectural elements.
Maintaining straight lines and right angles across the entire surface of the square was required, despite varying longitudinal and transverse slopes. The installation of linear drainage on concrete benches was carried out before laying the pavement and demanded precision from the contractor in order to align the drainage system with the paving pattern.
Thirty planting stations for trees were used with the Greenleaf Arborsystem – a modern, advanced solution that allows trees to be introduced even in the most unfavorable locations, protecting buildings and technical infrastructure from the harmful effects of root systems.
